PROF. DR. JANINA CZAPSKA studied law and since 1995 she is adjunct at the Department of the Sociology of Law of the University Cracow (Poland). She serves as the vice President to Cracow Branch of the Committee of Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, as well as editor of a yearbook. She published intensively on the police and 'fear of crime'. She participated also on international projects: the AGIS project “Crime Prevention Carousel” & EU Project “Insecurities in European Cities”.
